Integrating payment options like Stripe and PayPal, this feature promises to be a game-changer for many professionals who rely on Teams to conduct their business.

I truly believe this innovative feature will make a significant positive impact, and I’m excited to share its benefits with fellow Teams users.

Microsoft Teams Adds Payment App

The Teams Payment app is currently in public preview and is specifically designed for small businesses in the United States and Canada. It enables users to easily manage and collect payments during Teams meetings, creating a seamless experience for both the businesses and their customers.

The integration of services like Stripe, PayPal, and GoDaddy allows for secure payment processing within the Teams platform. This particularly benefits businesses offering consultative appointments, events, webinars, or even classes.

Businesses can now monetize these services right within their Teams meetings, eliminating the need for separate payment portals. Sending a payment request during a live Teams meeting is convenient and easy, making it an excellent tool for professionals like telehealth providers, tax preparation experts, and other SMBs.

Just open the chat box within a live meeting, and select Payments to fill out the request form.

Users can also manage payment activity, transaction details, refunds, and even download payment data – all from within the app.

I can’t wait to see how this new addition transforms the way small businesses leverage Microsoft Teams for their day-to-day operations. The Payments app is indeed a game-changer in the world of collaboration tools, and it’s thrilling to see Microsoft’s commitment to supporting and empowering small businesses.

What is the Payment App for Teams?

If you’ve already been sucked in and dying to get started, let me share with you some of the finer points of this app before you try it out.

The Payments app, developed by Microsoft, allows customers to pay you within Teams meetings, making it an excellent addition to hosting appointments, classes, or events on Teams.

Now is about the time you say, “Yeah yeah yeah, it’s so great. But how much is it gonna cost me?

Hows free sound to you? Good, right? This app is included with the Microsoft 365 subscription, so there’s no extra cost to access it as long as you already have your 365 license.

As for integration into your current Teams environment, setting it up is relatively straightforward.

First, install the app on your desktop or mobile via the Teams Apps widget.
